The Bryce Canyon entrance fee is $35 per private vehicle, $30 per motorcycle and $20 per person for visitors on foot or bicycle. Visitors from outside the United States (US) who are 16 or older owe a $100 nonresident fee, unless they enter with an Annual or America the Beautiful pass. The park accepts cards only, and if you plan to come back within a year, the park Annual Pass breaks even on your second visit.

Bryce Canyon Entrance Fees at a Glance

Bryce Canyon National Park charges a standard entrance fee based on how you arrive: by car, by motorcycle, or on foot or bicycle. Every visitor needs a pass on entering the park, and a single vehicle pass covers everyone riding in that vehicle.

Way inFeeWho it admits
Private vehicle$35One private, non-commercial vehicle (15 passengers or fewer) and all occupants
Motorcycle$30Up to 2 private motorcycles with up to 4 total passengers, valid 7 days
Per person$20One visitor 16 or older on foot or bicycle
Youth on foot or bicycleFreeVisitors 15 and under

A carload of five pays one vehicle fee, because the pass covers every occupant. Three adults walking or cycling in pay 3 × $20 = $60, and any children walking with them enter free. For trails, viewpoints and weather once you are through the gate, the Bryce Canyon National Park guide has the rest of the plan.

What Each Entrance Pass Covers

A private vehicle pass covers the driver and every passenger, so nobody in the car needs a separate pass. The vehicle must be private and non-commercial, with room for no more than 15 passengers.

The motorcycle pass admits up to two private motorcycles carrying up to four people in total, and it stays valid for 7 days. Two couples riding together can share one pass for 7 days.

Each adult cyclist or walker needs a per-person pass, while children 15 and under enter free. A parent cycling in with two young kids buys one per-person pass for the whole family.

Organized noncommercial groups such as Scouts, clubs, churches and reunions pay the $35 vehicle fee when the vehicle holds 15 people or fewer. Larger vehicles pay $20 per person, and youth 15 and under enter free. Commercial tour vehicles pay separate rates based on vehicle size, and those passes last the day of purchase plus the next six days for the same group of passengers.

Annual Pass or America the Beautiful Pass

The park Annual Pass breaks even on your second visit to Bryce Canyon in a year. The America the Beautiful pass beats the $35 gate fee from a third visit, but the $70 Annual Pass still costs less for Bryce alone. The America the Beautiful pass wins once you add another fee-charging federal site. The Annual Pass costs $70, covers Bryce Canyon only, and lasts 12 months from the purchase date. It is sold to US citizens and residents at the park's fee stations.

The America the Beautiful pass costs $80 a year for US citizens and residents and covers entrance and standard day-use fees at federal lands. That includes sites run by the National Park Service, the US Forest Service, the US Fish and Wildlife Service, the Bureau of Land Management, the Bureau of Reclamation and the US Army Corps of Engineers. Where a site charges per vehicle, it covers one private vehicle fee, and where a site charges per person, it covers four per-person fees.

Our fee math for one private vehicle over a year:

Your trip planStandard pass each visitPark Annual PassAmerica the Beautiful pass
One Bryce visit$35$70$80
Two Bryce visits$70$70$80
Three Bryce visits$105$70$80
One Bryce visit plus one other federal site$35 plus the other site's feeDoes not cover the other site$80

Pick the standard pass for a single visit, because both passes cost more than one visit at the gate. Pick the Annual Pass if Bryce Canyon is the only park you plan to return to this year. Pick the America the Beautiful pass for a multi-park road trip. It saves money once your other sites' vehicle fees total more than $45, the gap between the $80 pass and the Bryce vehicle fee.

That answer changes if you qualify for a discounted America the Beautiful pass. Seniors, current service members, visitors with a permanent disability and families with a fourth grader may pay little or nothing, so compare the table below before paying at the gate.

Every America the Beautiful pass is nonrefundable and nontransferable, and a lost or stolen pass cannot be replaced. The America the Beautiful pass guide explains how each version works across the national parks, and the passes page lists current prices.

Free Entrance Days in 2026

In 2026, every National Park Service site that charges an entrance fee offered free admission to US citizens and residents on set dates, including Memorial Day, Independence Day weekend and October 27. The one date left this year is November 11, Veterans Day. Dates for next year are not listed yet, so check the Bryce Canyon fees page before building a trip around one.

Nonresident Fee for Visitors from Outside the US

Every visitor from outside the US who is 16 or older pays a $100 nonresident fee on top of the standard entrance fee. The fee is waived for anyone admitted with an Annual or America the Beautiful pass, and it also applies to visitors traveling with commercial or concessioner tour groups.

The cost adds up quickly for a group. Two non-US adults sharing a car pay $35 + $100 + $100 = $235, which is $15 less than the $250 Non-Resident Annual pass. Free entrance days apply only to US citizens and residents, so plan on paying the full amount whatever the date.

The park Annual Pass is sold only to US citizens and residents, so the pass option for non-US visitors is the America the Beautiful Non-Resident Annual Pass at $250. Two adults on a single Bryce Canyon visit pay less without it. If your trip includes several fee-charging federal sites, total the per-site fees and compare that number with the pass price on the America the Beautiful passes page.

Paying the Bryce Canyon Entrance Fee

Bryce Canyon does not accept cash. The fee stations take credit and debit cards only, and so does the digital pass sold through the park's fees and passes page.

The park Annual Pass is sold in person at the fee stations. You can buy or pick up an America the Beautiful pass at more than 1,000 federal recreation sites. A digital pass saves to your phone and works right away. Mail orders can take up to three weeks to arrive. An order receipt does not count as a pass, so order early or buy the digital version.

If you hold an America the Beautiful pass, it is the only entrance pass you need at Bryce Canyon. Bring the pass and a photo ID. Passholders must show both.

The Bryce Canyon Entrance Fee on a Night-Sky Trip

The Bryce Canyon entrance fee is the same whether you drive in for sunrise at the rim or for the stars after dark. Bryce Canyon was certified as an International Dark Sky Park in 2019, and the Bryce Canyon stargazing guide covers where to set up and what to look for.

At Dark Light Collection, we are building glass pyramids near Bryce Canyon on private land about 15 minutes from the park, opening in 2027. For every other lodging choice around the park, the where-to-stay guide lays out the options.

Before you drive in, put a credit or debit card within reach and pick the Bryce Canyon entrance fee option that matches how many times you will visit this year.

After dark

Each Dark Light Collection pyramid is designed with a king bed positioned for sky-gazing under triple-pane glass, and the pyramids page shows the full design.
