Clear Sky Resorts Bryce Canyon vs Dark Light Collection

Glass domes you can book today in Cannonville, or glass pyramids opening near the park in 2027.

Last verified: Oct 14, 2026 4 min read

Clear Sky Resorts Bryce Canyon is a glass dome resort operating in Cannonville, Utah. Dark Light Collection is building glass pyramids near the park that open in 2027. If your trip comes before then, Clear Sky is the one of the two you can stay at. If you are planning further out, the pyramids are designed around in-room stargazing gear such as a personal deck telescope and nightly astrophotography.

The Short Version

Clear Sky Resorts Bryce Canyon is the stay to book for a trip before the pyramids open, because Clear Sky Resorts opened its glass domes in 2024 and is taking guests today. Dark Light Collection is pre-launch, and its Bryce Canyon glass pyramids accept founding deposits instead of nightly bookings.

Both stays are about 15 minutes from Bryce Canyon National Park, which became a Certified International Dark Sky Park in 2019. Your choice comes down to three points:

  • Timing. Clear Sky accepts guests today. The pyramids take no guests until they open.
  • Room shape. Clear Sky uses geodesic glass domes with large, floor-to-ceiling windows. Dark Light Collection uses glass pyramids in two sizes.
  • In-room stargazing. Clear Sky domes have large geodesic windows, and the resort runs stargazing tours. Each pyramid is designed with a king bed positioned for sky-gazing, a personal deck telescope and nightly astrophotography from that pyramid's own coordinates.

Dark Light Collection Pyramids near Bryce Canyon

Dark Light Collection is a pre-launch stay of glass pyramids on private land near Bryce Canyon National Park. At Dark Light Collection, we are building up to 25 pyramids about 15 minutes from the park, with Red Canyon about 10 minutes away and the Sevier River in view. Zion National Park is about an hour's drive.

Founding deposits are open on the reservation page.

How the Pyramids Are Built

The pyramids come in two sizes, with 8 m and 9 m bases. They are arranged in an Orion's Belt pattern, with one smaller pyramid for every two larger ones. No pyramid shares a wall with another.

The glass is triple-pane with Low-E film that blocks 99% of UV. It is heated for snow-melt. Smart privacy glass tints at a tap.

Stargazing from the Room

The king bed is positioned for sky-gazing. Outside, a private deck has a fire pit, heated loungers and a personal deck telescope. Each night, astrophotography taken from the pyramid's own coordinates is ready to download.

On cloudy nights, a built-in projector turns the glass into a cinema. Lighting and climate are app-controlled, and the pyramids have biometric locks. The concierge coordinates private guided astronomy sessions and golden-hour photography tours.
